Making your own greeting card for that someone special is a very fun and enjoyable process. It is very exciting to receive a homemade card, which was created especially for you. You would want to card to appeal to the person receiving it, so take the initiate to do some research and find out what his or her hobbies and interests are. Are you creating a card for your special friend?
Which do you prefer, a greeting card with something humorous or one with a real serious sentimental tone? For funny cards, cartoon make the best graphics use. BTW, I found a site about art classes in Spanish: clases arte. A sentimental card on the other hand might mean you need to gather cutouts of flower pictures. You can choose to draw your own graphics if you possess the talent.
Obviously you need to establish the purpose of sending the greeting card. So, what's the occasion, has the person just obtained that job they always wanted or is it their anniversary? For instance, if it is a birthday, a picture of a cake is usually acceptable! If it is to commemorate Independence Day, then use the American flag.
Write memorable copies for your greeting card because this is the meat of the card. You can choose to use a poem you like as your message or better still, write your own. When you use other people's work, now the item becomes a non commercial item that you only use personally to send to friends and family members. It is okay if the card is used for personal purposes and not for financial gain.
Now that you know what you will put on the greeting card, who it is for, and why you are sending it, the next step is to gather all the materials you will need to create it. Collect all flowers, rhinestones, and paper you need before you begin as this will make the process simpler. Perhaps a nice ribbon or lace will be a welcoming addition to make it stand out.
The great thing about home made greeting cards is, the sky is the limit! The only limit to what you can do is your own imagination. So break out those old magazines, poetry books, comic books, and cartoon strips, get those creative juices flowing, and make the best card ever! Remember, the hard work will paid off when the greeting card remains as part of a collection in the hands of the recipient.
