Choosing the Right Travel Sites

Personally, I have always enjoyed traveling outside of my country but I know many people that have never even left the state they live in and always vacation locally. Fortunately, there isn't a corner of the earth that doesn't have a travel site dedicated to it so it is easy obtaining information on the internet. Let's face it, when you can book whatever vacation you like using a website, why bother going to a travel agent. BTW, I found a site about Granada Rural Accommodation in Spanish: alojamiento rural Granada. The predominance of websites dedicated to travel says just how popular this method is as every tour operator has their website as well to add to the mix.
There is obviously a great deal of trust required to use the internet this way as often the companies you deal with have never been anything else but an internet based business. However, I am still of the old school and prefer to sit down with a cup of coffee and plan my vacation with a professional, face to face. There always seems to be much more flexibility with a travel agent and you are able to ask for more details and change your mind with much more ease. The more maddening problem with travel sites arranged vacation is when there is a complaint about some aspect of it; this is the part that lets the whole system down as talking to a human being is not easy, and if you do actually manage to speak to someone, do have any idea where they are?
How do you know what they are telling you is the truth because it won't be until you actually go away that you will find out. It is this fear of the problems that can occur and if they do happen it is too late that prevents me from being more trusting in the way that I trust my travel agent. Whereas a good friend of mine only ever books her vacations online and always those advertised at the last minute; probably from cancellations. She is good at this and saves hundreds of dollars of the proper price and has always had a good vacation.
I have to say that I envy here but she has an understanding company that is far more flexible than mine which require more notice for a vacation. If you are flexible though, booking through a travel site could be incredibly worthwhile plus, travel sites offer discount coupons and prices for excursions or miscellaneous items when you book online. Now I know I said that I book my vacation using a real travel agent but that doesn't mean I do not take advantage of the internet to carry out research on my chosen destination first. It may not be fair on my travel agent but at least I know if something goes wrong, I will have someone to complain to on my return.
