Tips on Buying a Puppy

Oh the feel of soft puppy fur, sloppy wet licks and warm cuddling! The attraction of a puppy is so great that people are willing to pay any price to buy one. There is some fascination about bringing home a cute puppy that is akin to carrying an innocent infant. BTW, I found a site about guide dogs in Spanish: guia de perros. Having a little puppy opens new doors of opportunity to teach new habits or tricks that you would like them to have.
The paradigm of being gentle and caring can be instilled into your children by showing them how gentle and caring you are for the puppy. Your children will not be able to thank you enough for giving them the opportunity to grow up with a young dog. Paper training and walking on a leash are extra bonus for bringing home a puppy. Remember that puppies love to chew so give them suitable toys to satiate their urge.
Like an infant, the puppy needs more attention in the early months of its growth. Sending the puppy to a shelter for adoption is not a good solution as the shelters are crowded with dogs and other puppies. Different breeds of puppies have different characteristics and prefer different environments to get easily adjusted to so take note of this and act accordingly. You need to know what the dog's full size is and whether it fits your living space. You can always visit the dog and take them for a walk before making up your mind.
It would help to know how the dog will be like when fully grown up. A puppy will have no difficulty adjusting to your home. You need to know the specific requirements of puppies and older dogs.
A puppy has to be trained from day one whereas an older dog might already be trained, but you could have more vet bills if it's not a completely healthy older dog. Talk to the experts before you decide to proceed with your plan as not all dogs like to be around young people. Sometimes, it is good to adopt an older dog that is homeless. If showing or breeding is your goal, a puppy with papers might suit your needs more.
